In spring and summer it’s extremly important to protect your child against dangerous sun rays with a baby sun cap. But while some toddlers love their baby sun hat, some toddlers hate wearing them with passion. They will take off their sun hat as soon as you look away for a second.
That’s why you should mind a few important rules when buying a sun protection hat for your baby. If you can find a hat that both you and your baby like, you can be sure your little one will not take off the hat and will always be protected against the sun.
Now, here are my 3 golden rules when it comes to buying a baby sun hat:
Rule 1: Choose A Hat That Covers The Neck
Of course parents choose a hat that covers the face, but protecting your little ones neck is just as important. They go out and buy a hat that has a brim which only covers the front. But a brim that protects the neck is just as important or your little one will quickly get a dangerous sun burn.
Rule 2: How To Make Your Baby Love Her Hat
To prevent your toddler from taking of the sun protection hat, I highly recommend you to show your baby several hats and see which one she really likes. To see if her decision is final, offer her some hats again and see if she changes her mind.
Your toddler might show a strong will against most offered hats. A strong will is a good sign.
Rule 3: UVA And UVB Protection
There are many sun hats for babies that have a brim but lack protection against dangerous UVA and UVB rays. Those sun rays penetrate most materials and can even burn you little ones skin under an umbrella or a sun hat.
Choose a baby sun hat with UVA and UVB protection and your toddler will be perfectly protected.
